KEYENCE PS Series Separate-Amplifier Photoelectric Sensor Heads Meet Diverse Precision Automation Demands

Industrial automation operators continue to rely on KEYENCE PS-N series separate-amplifier photoelectric sensor heads for compact, high-stability object detection across electronics assembly, packaging, semiconductor and precision machinery sectors. Four widely deployed models, PS-202, PS-55, PS-47C and PS2-61, deliver differentiated sensing performance to address varied on-site detection challenges.
The PS-202 is a thru-beam type sensor head equipped with PFA-sheathed cable and integrated aperture design. Featuring excellent chemical resistance, it fits production environments with oil splashes, moisture and corrosive substances. The model ensures stable detection for tiny parts passing through narrow stations and is favored in food processing and chemical automation equipment.
As a general-purpose long-distance thru-beam unit, PS-55 supports a maximum sensing distance up to 4,000 mm under TURBO mode. Powered by infrared LED, it reliably identifies opaque objects as small as 1.0 mm in FINE mode. Its ultra-small housing simplifies installation on large conveying lines, automated warehouses and packaging production equipment for counting and object presence detection.
PS-47C is a definite-reflective compact sensor with an ultra-small light spot. At a detection distance of 10 mm, its spot diameter reaches merely 0.8 mm, capable of capturing targets as thin as 0.03 mm copper wire. Free from interference from background reflections, it is ideal for precise detection of tiny electronic components, transparent film and small labels on high-speed assembly lines.
The PS2-61 thru-beam sensor head adopts a slim miniature structure. Its streamlined body adapts to confined installation spaces inside precision jigs and compact automation machinery. It provides consistent triggering for small workpiece passing detection and position confirmation in 3C electronics assembly and battery manufacturing processes.
All four sensor heads match KEYENCE PS-N series digital amplifiers, supporting one-touch sensitivity calibration and unified light value display. The separated amplifier design reduces wiring difficulty and facilitates centralized debugging and maintenance. Sensor cables can be extended up to 10 meters properly, bringing greater flexibility for equipment layout.
Machine builders and system integrators select these PS sensor heads to optimize detection stability while controlling cabinet and jig space. With outstanding vibration resistance and wide operating temperature range, the PS series minimizes unplanned downtime for automated production lines. As precision manufacturing trends toward miniaturization and high-speed operation, KEYENCE compact separate-amplifier photoelectric sensors remain a mainstream solution for non-contact object detection globally.
